For the past few years we have been promoting “Take Your Dog to Work Day,” which this year is June 22nd. Started in an effort to raise awareness for adopting dogs from shelters, it has grown into a true holiday for dog lovers who get a chance to share their love of their favorite pooch with their work life for the day. For Amy Dixon and Fidelco Guide Dog Woodstock, every day is Take Your Dog to Work Day. Amy is an elite Para-triathlete competing on the world ITU Paratriathlon circuit and is a member of the USA Paratriathlon National Team. She is ranked 4th in the world for the sport of triathlon and is currently a Paralympic hopeful for Tokyo 2020.

Amy and Woodstock lead a very busy life. In addition to full time training for the Paralympics, Amy speaks to groups about empowering yourself to overcome obstacles, such as illness, injury and professional challenges by educating yourself, using a team approach, and becoming an expert in what challenges you. Her message, “One does not need sight to have vision,” powerfully reflects her determination to succeed in all aspects of her professional, personal and athletic life. Amy has endured 19 surgeries as an autoimmune eye disease patient and is Vice President of Glaucoma Eyes International Organization. She serves as a coach and mentor to many visually impaired athletes, eye disease and autoimmune disease patients, helping them live lives beyond their disability and disease through her vast resources and expertise.
She is a dynamic, funny, and inspiring speaker who somehow managed to add master sommelier to her resume of talents. Please consider supporting Amy’s journey to Tokyo: https://www.gofundme.com/AmysRoadToTokyo. We are proud to support Amy, and we hope that you can join us in supporting her endeavors!
